Glazed Cherry Pie

I am always looking for this recipe when cherries come into season. So I am posting it here for safekeeping. For some silly reason I can't find it on my computer when I need it. Cooking time is the chill time. From Company's Coming: Pies Show more

  1. Stir gelatin into boiling water in medium bowl until dissolved.
  2. Combine sugar and first amount of cherries in medium saucepan. Stir. Mash cherries then heat and stir until it boils. Cook for 2 minutes. Add gelatin mixture. Remove from heat.
  3. Place second amount of cherries in pie shell. Pour hot mixture over top. Just use what pie shell will hold. A bit may need to be left out. Chill at least 4 hours before cutting.
  4. Note: Fresh cherries in cherry gelatin. Serve with whipped cream for finishing touch.
