Glazed Apples With Cream Sauce

Ingredients
- 6 apples
- 6 tablespoons butter or 6 tablespoons margarine
- 3⁄4 cup brown sugar, Packed
- 1 lemon, juice only
- 2 tablespoons Applejack or 2 tablespoons calvados
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon, Ground
- 1⁄4 teaspoon nutmeg, Ground
CREAM SAUCE
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1⁄4 teaspoon nutmeg, Ground
Directions
- Use medium to large-sized apples. Choose apples that are good for baking.
- Peel, core and thinly slice apples.
- Melt butter or margarine in heavy skillet.
- Add apples, brown sugar, lemon juice, Applejack, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Cook over medium heat for about 25 to 30 minutes.
- Turn often.
- Apple should be caramelized and tender.
- Serve warm with Cream Sauce.
- CREAM SAUCE:
- Whip 1 cup heavy cream only until soft peaks form.
- Fold in powdered sugar and grated nutmeg.
