Gingery Apple Crumb Pie

Ingredients
- 1 pie crust
- 1⁄2 cup unsalted and cold butter, chopped into small pieces
- 3⁄4 cup plus 1 tbps all-purpose flour, divided
- 3⁄4 cup sugar, divided
- 2 1⁄2 lbs apples, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1⁄4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1⁄4 teaspoon kosher salt
Directions
- Preheat oven 375° with the rack on the lowest position.
- In a food process, pulse the butter, 3/4 cup flour, and 1/4 cup sugar until large clumps form. Transfer to a bowl and refrigerate until ready to use.
- Place pie crust into a 9" pie plate.
- In a large bowl, toss apples, ginger, cinnamon, salt, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1 tbsp flour.
- Place apple mixture into pie plate, sprinkle with crumb topping and bake until golden and apples are tender, approximately 55-60 minutes.
- Serve at room temperature.
