Ingredients
- 3⁄4 cup shortening
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1⁄4 cup molasses
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon clove
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1⁄4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup granulated sugar
Directions
- Cream shortening, sugar, egg and molasses.
- Stir in flour, spices, baking soda and baking powder.
- Shape into walnut size balls.
- Roll into granulated sugar.
- Place on ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes.
- Cool.
