Gingerbread

Ingredients
- 3⁄4 cup shortening
- 2 large eggs
- 2 1⁄2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 3⁄4 cup packed brown sugar
- 3⁄4 cup sorghum
- 2 1⁄2 teaspoons baking powder
- 3⁄4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1⁄2 cup raisins
Directions
- Cream together shortening, eggs, sugar and syrup; add buttermilk.
- Sift dry ingredients together and add to wet mixture.
- Mix well, pour into a greased and floured pan.
- Bake at 350° for 40 minutes or until done.
