Ingredients
- 1 cup molasses
- 1⁄2 cup sugar
- 1⁄2 cup shortening
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups flour
- 1⁄2 teaspoon ginger
- 1⁄4 teaspoon allspice
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 cup boiling water
Directions
- Mix ingredients in order listed, dissolving soda in boiling water.
- Bake in an 9 x 13 glass pan, which has been greased and floured at 350° for 40 minutes.
