Ginger Raisin Muffins

Ingredients
- 1⁄2 cup shortening (or marg)
- 1⁄2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 cup milk
- 1⁄2 cup molasses
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 2 teaspoons ginger
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1⁄2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 cup raisins
Directions
- cream shortening with sugar and salt.
- Blend milk and molasses and add.
- Stir flours and spices.
- Pour liquid ingredients into dry.
- Drop in raisins and stir just enough to moisten.
- Spoon into the well greased muffin tins and bake 400F 20 minutes.
- Serve warm.
