Ginger Lace Cookies

Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 3⁄4 cup shortening
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 4 tablespoons molasses
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
Directions
- Cream shortening, add sugar gradually, add beaten eggs, and molasses.
- Mix and sift the flour, cinnamon, ginger and soda and add salt.
- Roll in small balls.
- Roll in additional granulated sugar.
- Place 1 1/2 inches apart on a buttered cookie sheet and bake 12 minutes at 375 degrees.
