These cookies go really fast. I always have to double the batch. If you like to use cut outs and make them into different shapes it works great too. Show more

  1. Mix all the dry ingredients together: baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and salt.
  2. Blend together the sugar, shortening, egg and molasses and pour into dry ingredients, mix well and form into balls. Press down to 1/2 inches, sprinkle sugar on top. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes until starts to crack on top.
