- Combine bacon and spinach. Add flour to bacon drippings and blend well. Add hot water; cook over low heat until thick, stirring constantly. Add sugar, vinegar and seasonings; pour over spinach. Stir well until wilted. Garnish with slices of hard cooked egg.
