German Fruitcake

Ingredients
- 3⁄4 cup butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 3 cups flour
- 1⁄2 teaspoon allspice
- 1⁄2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2⁄3 cup cherry preserves
- 2⁄3 cup apricot preserves
- 2⁄3 cup pineapple preserves
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
- Cream together: butter, sugar and eggs.
- Sift together: flour and spices.
- Add baking soda to buttermilk.
- Add flour mixture to egg mixture a little at a time, alternating with buttermilk until well mixed.
- Fold in preserves and chopped nuts.
- Mix in vanilla extract.
- Bake in a greased and floured bundt pan at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
- Cool for 15 minutes before removing from pan.
