Garlic Shrimp With Orzo Sizzler

This is my version of a TGI Friday dish I had a couple of weeks ago.

Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • 24 -28  medium  deveined shrimp
  • 1  medium green pepper, diced
  • 1  medium  red pepper, diced
  • 4  tablespoons butter
  • 4  tablespoons olive oil
  • 1  tablespoon  minced garlic
  • 1  cup  italian  five cheese blend
  • 8  ounces orzo pasta

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cook orzo and drain.
  3. In 10 inch cast iron skillet melt butter with olive oil. Saute garlic and diced peppers for 4 to 5 minutes. Add peeled shrimp. Cook until shrimp are pink. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Remove shrimp mixture with slotted spoon leaving oil and juices. Add cooked orzo to skillet, top with 1/2 of the cheese mix. Arrange shrimp and peppers on top of orzo and finish with remaining cheese.
  5. Place skillet in oven until cheese is melted and bubbly, about 10 minutes.
  6. Place on table and allow everyone to serve themselves.
