Ingredients
- 3 large potatoes, diced
- 3 tomatoes, diced
- 4 tablespoons oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin seed
- 1 pinch asafoetida powder
- 3⁄4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 3⁄4 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup water
- 1⁄2 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 cup dried Chinese mushrooms, shredded
Directions
- Heat oil and add cumin seeds and asafetida powder. Let it sizzle for about 30 seconds. Add in the tomatoes, turmeric, chilli, salt, and coriander powder and fry for 30 seconds.
- Add your potatoes in and fry for 2 minutes. Add in water, bring to a boil, lower to a simmer and cook, covered, for about 10 minutes.
- Stir in mushrooms and garam masala. Stir well for 1 min and cover for around another 5 minutes.
- Serve.
