Fried Green Tomatoes

Ingredients
- 4 large green tomatoes
- 1⁄2 cup all-purpose flour or 1⁄2 cup cornmeal
- 1⁄4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- bacon drippings or salad oil
Directions
- Cut tomatoes into 1/4" slices.
- Combine flour, salt and pepper; dredge tomato slices with this mixture.
- Place in heavy skillet containing hot bacon drippings.
- Fry slowly until brown, turning once.
