Fried Green Tomatoes

Serves: 4-6
Ingredients
- 4 large green tomatoes
- 1⁄3 cup canola oil
- 1 cup flour
- salt and pepper
- 2 eggs
- hot sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar (optional)
Directions
- Cut tomatoes 1/4 in thick.
- Beat egg and add dash or two of hot sauce and sugar.
- salt and pepper the flour. I like sea salt and freshly ground pepper.
- Dip tomato slices in flour.
- Dip in egg.
- Dip in flour again.
- Heat oil and fry until brown.
