Fried Crab Stew

Ingredients
- 3 slices bacon
- 2 cups crabmeat (lump and claw)
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 stalk celery, chopped
- 1⁄2 cup hot water
- salt and pepper
Directions
- Fry the bacon in a skillet. In a bowl, combine the crabmeat, onion, bell pepper, and celery. Set the bacon aside and fry the crab and vegetable mixture in the drippings in the skillet, stirring often, until the crab begins to brown. Crumble the bacon and add to the skillet, along with 1/2 cup hot water. Cover and simmer 15 to 20 minutes. Stir often. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve over rice, grits, or biscuits.
