Ready In: 50 mins
Serves: 4
Ingredients
- 1 head cabbage, cut into bite size chunks (of a bag of shredded cabbage)
- 3 -5 slices bacon
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 dash apple cider vinegar
- salt and pepper
- 3 dashes hot sauce, to taste (optional)
Directions
- Chop up your bacon and render in a medium sized pan (with high sides) until nice and crispy.
- Throw in about 1 tablespoon of water to de-glaze the pan and saute for 4 minutes.
- Add in 2 tablespoons of butter and the chopped onion. Cook onion 2 - 3 minutes.
- Add in the cabbage salt and pepper and saute so that it's well covered with bacon drippings and butter.
- Turn heat to low cover, and cook until cabbage is to desired tenderness. If needed add a bit of water to help cooking (careful not to add too much). Stir occasionally.
- Turn off the heat and add a dash or two of apple cider vinegar, a few drops of hot sauce (optional) and salt and pepper to taste.
