French Toast Stuffed With Brie With Pecan Syrup

Ingredients

  • 6  slices  , french baquette sliced diagonally, about 1-inch thick
  • 2  eggs
  • 1  cup milk
  • 1  pinch salt
  • 1  pinch cinnamon
  • 14 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6  slices  brie cheese
  • 1  cup real maple syrup
  • 18 cup  toasted pecans, broken into small pieces
  • 18 cup  diced banana
  • 12 cup strawberry (topping)
  • 1  cup  fresh  whipped cream (topping)

Directions

  1. Combine maple syrup, pecans and bananas and warm over low heat.
  2. In a shallow baking dish, beat the eggs then add in the milk, salt, cinnamon and vanilla.
  3. Make a slit in each slice of bread big enough for the brie to fit into, but do not cut all the way through.
  4. Place the brie slices into the opening.
  5. Dip the bread into the egg mixture and place on hot griddle.
  6. Cook until browned on bottom, then flip and cook until browned on the other side.
  7. After both sides are browned, transfer 3 pieces to individual serving plates. Top with whipped cream and fresh berries.
  8. Serve with warm maple syrup mixture.
