French Bread With Chipotle Lime Butter

From Paula Deen. I have doubled her chipotle amount b/c when I made it I could not taste it. Flavors would be more intense if the butter mixture was made earlier in day.

Ingredients

• 1  cup butter, softened
• 1  teaspoon lime zest
• 1  teaspoon fresh lime juice
• 1  teaspoon  chipotle chili pepper, minced
• 1  lb  loaf  French bread, halved lengthwise

Directions

1. Preheat broiler.
2. In a small bowl, combine butter, lime zest, lime juice, and pepper.
3. Spread butter mixture evenly over cut sides of bread.
4. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil.
5. Broil bread, buttered side up 5 inches from heat, for 1 to 2 minutes, or until toasted.
6. Cut into slices to serve.
