Four Star Meatloaf

This is my favorite Meatloaf. It has a hint of sweetness. I had a similar version of this at camp one summer and had to have the recipe. I modified it to my taste.

• Serves: 8-18

Ingredients

• 3  lbs lean ground beef
• 1 1⁄2 cups rolled oats
• 1⁄2 cup onion, Chopped
• 1⁄2 cup green pepper, Chopped
• 2  teaspoons salt
• 1⁄4 teaspoon pepper
• 2  eggs
• 2 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce
• 1⁄2 cup ketchup
• 2  tablespoons brown sugar

Directions

1. Combine all ingredients.
2. Pack into 9x5x3-inch loaf pan.
3. Bake at 350 degrees about 1 1/2 hours.
4. Let stand five minutes.
5. If desired, remove to shallow pan.
6. Coat with layer of ketchup.
7. Return to 400 degree oven for a few minutes until Ketchup begins to brown.
