Fluffy Gold Cake

This is an adopted recipe. I googled it and found that it needed 1 1/3 cups of sugar and not the original 1/3 cup. I've amended it and will be making it soon. Please feel free to try it out and let me have the comments. Thanks. Show more

Directions

  1. Sift together dry ingredients and put in mixing bowl.
  2. Add shortening and half the milk.
  3. Mix.
  4. Add remaining milk, vanilla, and egg yolks.
  5. Blend well.
  6. Pour into 2 greased and floured round layer pans and bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
