Flavored Butters

When butter plays a starring role, opt for the best-quality sweet (not salted) butter you can find. I don't remember where I found this recipe. I have not tried this recipe.

Ingredients

• Strawberry Butter

• 1⁄2 cup strawberry
• 2  tablespoons sugar
• 8  tablespoons  softened butter

• Vanilla Butter

• 8  tablespoons  softened butter
• 1  tablespoon confectioners' sugar
• 1⁄2 vanilla bean
• 1  teaspoon vanilla extract

• Orange-Honey Butter

• 8  tablespoons  softened butter
• 1⁄2 cup honey
• 2  teaspoons orange zest

Directions

1. Strawberry Butter: Cook strawberries and sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat until sugar dissolves and liquid evaporates. Cool. Blend with
2. softened butter.
3. Vanilla Butter: Blend softened butter with confectioners' sugar, the seeds from the vanilla bean, and vanilla extract.
4. Orange-Honey Butter: Blend softened butter with honey, and orange zest.
