Flaky Apple Foldovers

Recipe from an old Pillsbury booklet.

Serves: 10

Ingredients

  • 1 (10 ounce) can  hungry jack  refrigerated biscuits
  • 12 cup sugar
  • 34 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 14 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 14 cups apples, peeled and chopped
  • 14 cup margarine or 14 cup butter, melted

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Separate dough into 10 biscuits. Press or roll each to a 4" circle.
  2. In small bowl, combine sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Spoon about 2 tablespoons apples onto center of each flattened biscuit.
  4. Spoon 1 teaspoon sugar mixture over apples.
  5. Fold dough in half over filling; press edges with fork to seal.
  6. Brush tops with margarine and sprinkle with remaining sugar mixture.
  7. Place in ungreased 15x10" jelly roll pan.
  8. Bake at 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove immediately from pan to cool.
