Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon clove
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 1⁄2 cups sugar
- 1 cup oil or 1 cup butter
- 3 eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup chopped fig
- 1⁄2 cup chopped pecans (optional) or 1⁄2 cup raisins (optional)
Directions
- Sift all dry ingredients together.
- Add oil or the butter mix well.
- Add vanilla and buttermilk mix well.
- Add figs and the optional ingredients (if desired).
- Do Not Grease Pan 9x12.
- Bake 40 to 45 minute at 325 F.
