Ingredients
- 5 1⁄2 cups low-sodium beef broth
- 1 cup caramelized onion
- coarse salt
- ground pepper
- country bread, sliced thick
- gruyere cheese, grated
Directions
- Heat broiler.
- Bring the broth and onions to a simmer over medium heat; season with salt and pepper.
- Top bread with cheese and season with pepper; broil until toasted.
- Serve soup with cheese toasts.
