Far Eastern Rutabagas

Ingredients
- 2 lbs rutabagas
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons canola oil
- 1⁄2 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1⁄4 teaspoon red pepper
- 1⁄4 cup thinly sliced scallion
Directions
- Peel the rutabagas and cut into ½ inch chunks.
- Place in a saucepan, cover with cold water and cook over medium heat until tender, about 20 minutes.
- Drain. Return to the pan and stir over medium heat until all the excess moisture evaporates, about 2 minutes.
- In a large frying pan, combine the soy sauce, canola oil, sesame oil, garlic and pepper.
- Heat for 4 minutes. Add the rutabagas and toss to combine.
- Heat for 2 minutes. Sprinkle with the scallions.
