Fantastic Twinkie Refrigerator Strawberry Shortcake!

Plan ahead this needs to chill for a minimum of 2 hours before serving, purchase the ready-made glaze for this, if you like a lot of cream topping then use a 12-ounce container of Cool Whip topping, 16 servings is only estimated I can eat this whole cake myself lol! --- see note on bottom for a thinner twinkie crust -- you will *LOVE* this! :) Show more

Ingredients

  • 5  cups  sliced fresh strawberries
  • 1 (18 ounce) jar  strawberry glaze
  • 16  Hostess Twinkies (purchase a few more just in case you need them)
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (8 ounce) container  cool whip  frozen whipped topping, thawed

Directions

  1. Prepare a 13 x 9-inch pan.
  2. Mix the strawberry slices with the glaze; chill until ready to use.
  3. Place the whole twinkies into the bottom of the pan, pressing down slightly (do not slice the twinkies leave in one piece).
  4. In a bowl using an electric mixer at medium speed beat softened cream cheese with condensed milk until smooth.
  5. Fold in the 8-ounce container using a spatula until combined.
  6. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the twinkies.
  7. Spoon the berries over the cream cheese mixture.
  8. Cover with plastic wrap and chill for a minimum of 2 hours before serving.
  9. *NOTE* for a thinner twinkie crust use 8 twinkies and slice in half lengthwise, spread into bottom of the pan.
