Family Favorite Vegetable Soup

Ingredients
- 1⁄2 lb ground round
- 2 quarts tomatoes
- 4 cups water
- 2 stalks celery, sliced
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 potatoes, peeled and diced
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 1 cup frozen corn
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 1 cup diced zucchini
- 1⁄4 cup pearl barley
- 3 tablespoons beef broth, powder
- 1 teaspoon sugar
Directions
- Brown meat in large soup pot; drain. Add tomatoes and water. Bring to boil; reduce heat to simmer. Cover and simmer until tomatoes are soft and juicy broth is created, about 10 minutes. Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer, covered 1 hour until the vegs. are tender and flavors blend.
