Extra Awesome Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is my best attempt so far in my quest to duplicate the recipe for my favorite Mrs. Field's milk chocolate chip cookies. You can use semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips instead, but I think the milk chocolate makes them even more delicious! Show more

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
  3. In a medium bowl combine flour, baking soda and salt. Mix well with a wire whisk.
  4. In a large bowl use a mixer to blend the sugars at medium speed.
  5. Add the cold, cubed butter and mix to form a grainy paste, scraping down the sides of the bowl as you go.
  6. Add eggs, vanilla and milk and mix at low to medium speed - just until blended. Do not overmix.
  7. Add the flour mixture 1 cup at a time, then add chocolate chips and blend at low speed until just mixed.
  8. Drop by rounded tablespoons onto an ungreased cookie sheet, two inches apart. Press down dough with fingers to flatten out a bit.
  9. Bake 9 minutes until golden. After 5 minutes of baking, lightly tap cookie sheet and rotate sides. DO NOT overcook - even if they don't look done yet.
  10. Transfer cookies immediately to a cool surface with a spatula.
