Evan's Heavenly Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

These cookies have been a work in progress, that is until I nailed the recipe down and now my girlfriend begs me to make them almost weekly! They're easy to make and absolutely the best cookies I have ever tasted. We dont buy cookies anymore, let's put it that way! You can even sub-in margarine, Splenda, and Whole Wheat Flour and they still rock! Enjoy! Show more

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 325.
  2. 2. cream butter, brown sugar and white sugar together.
  3. 3. add eggs one at a time.
  4. 4. add vanilla extract.
  5. 5. combine flour, baking soda and salt with creamed mixture.
  6. 6. add in quick oats and chocolate chips.
  7. 7. spoon onto ungreased baking sheet in whatever size you want, I usually make a dozen large cookies.
  8. 8. bake for apporximately 12 minutes, though I start watching them at that point and find they tend to need another 5, sometimes 10 minutes.
  9. 9. allow to cool 5 minutes before transferring to cooling rack, that is IF you can keep yourself from grabbing a hot one to taste!
