Esther's Down Home Meatloaf

Yields: 1 meatloaf
Ingredients
- 1 1⁄2 lbs ground beef
- 1 cup dry breadcrumbs
- 1 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1⁄8 teaspoon dried sage
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄8 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1⁄4 cup ketchup
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1⁄4 teaspoon nutmeg
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef or turkey, bread crumbs, milk, eggs, onion or onion powder, sage, salt and pepper; mix well.
- Place in a 9" loaf pan that's been coated with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a small bowl, combine the remaining four ingredients and spread over the top of the meat mixture.
- Bake 50-60 minutes or until center is no longer pink.
