Especial Coffee Cake

Given to me by a friend. This is absolutely delicious and so easy to make! It reminds me of the "cuca" (kuchen) my German-Brazilian grandmother, Olga, used to make when I was a kid. Show more

  1. Scald milk; stir in sugar and margarine and cool it down.
  2. Put water in a warm bowl and sprinkle with yeast, stirring well. Add to milk. Add egg and half of the flour, beating until smooth. Add remaing flour to make a stiff batter.
  3. Cover well with foil or paper. Refrigerate 2 hours. Put in a 9 x 13" pan and let rise (double). Poke holes and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Cover with hot Cream and bake at 350 F for 20 minutes, or until done.
  4. CREAM: cook all ingredients for 2-3 minutes.
