English Cucumber Tea Sandwiches

This is traditional English fare for tea. They are very dainty and quaint to eat if you are having a tea party. It makes you feel like a queen. Dry parsley or dry dill may be sprinkled on in place of the fresh parsley. Show more

Yields: 12 sandwiches

Ingredients

  • 12  slices  white bread or 12  slices  whole wheat bread, round circles
  • 1  cucumber (thinly sliced)
  • 2  tablespoons butter (soft)
  • 1 (8 ounce) container  whipped cream cheese
  •  salt and pepper
  • 1  sprig fresh parsley

Directions

  1. Cut out rounds out of bread--white or wheat.
  2. Spread each round with butter.
  3. Spread a tad of soft cream cheese on top of the butter.
  4. Place a cucumber slice on top of this.
  5. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  6. Put a tiny piece of parsley on top OR sprinkle a little dry parsley or dill on top.
  7. Refrigerate.
