Elvis Spaghetti

This is a recipe a friend of mine brought back on a post card from TN when she saw Graceland. It makes a bunch, and it is much nicer than the jarred sauce. Show more

  1. Heat oil in large skillet.
  2. Saute onion, bell pepper, celery,& garlic until tender.
  3. Add ground beef.
  4. Mix well adding salt, pepper, and bay leaves.
  5. Cook until tender.
  6. Add tomatoes and tomato paste, catsup, sugar, chili powder, and Italian seasoning.
  7. Simmer for about 2 hours.
  8. About 15 minutes before sauce is done, drop spaghetti in large kettle 3/4 full of boiling water.
  9. Cook 10 minutes and drain spaghetti.
  10. Pour sauce over spaghetti and mix well.
  11. Serve hot and garnish with Parmesan cheese.
