Elaine's Mother's Brisket

Serves: 6-8
Ingredients
- 4 lbs beef brisket
Marinade
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons minced dehydrated onion
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
- 1 tablespoon mustard, I use Guldens Spicy Brown
- 1 tablespoon horseradish
- 1⁄4 teaspoon ground black pepper
Directions
- Combine marinade ingredients and pour in to a large plastic zip lock bag.
- Add meat.
- Place bag in refrigerator for 24 hours.
- Remove meat from marinade.
- Sprinkle generously with salt.
- Bake at 300 degrees, covered for 2 hours.
- Remove meat from pan.
- Slice meat against the grain.
- Return to pan for 1 more hour.
