- Grease a Bundt pan with the soft butter.
- Press the almonds and cherries against the side and bottom of the pan to make a pretty pattern.
- Dust lightly with flour and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl combine cake mix, nutmeg, eggs,eggnog, melted butter, and rum flavoring.
- Beat until smooth.
- Pour batter into pan and bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 55 minutes or until the cake springs back when pressed lightly.
- Let cake cool in pan for 10 minutes before turning it out.
- Cool before serving.
