Easy Doughnuts

Yields: 12-24 doughnuts
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 1⁄3 cup shortening, melted (or oil)
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 4 cups flour
Directions
- Mix all dry ingredients together.
- Mix the eggs and sugar, add oil and milk.
- Add wet to dry and mix well.
- Roll out.
- Cut into rounds, with a hole in the center.
- Fry in oil until golden.
- Cover with powdered sugar if desired.
