Easy Chocolate Chewies (Cookies)

These cookies are so easy to make and so rich and fudgy :)

• Yields: 4 doz (approx)

Ingredients

• 1 (18 1/4ounce) package  devil's food cake mix
• 1⁄2 cup Crisco shortening
• 2  large eggs, lightly beaten
• 1  tablespoon water
• 1⁄3 cup  mini chocolate chip (optional)
• 1⁄2 cup icing sugar

Directions

1. Set oven to 375 degrees.
2. Lightly grease a cookie sheet.
3. Combine first 4 ingredients in a large bowl, (with mini chocolate chips, if using) stirring until smooth.
4. Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll in icing sugar.
5. Place 2-inches apart on cookie sheets.
6. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
7. Cool 10 minutes on cookie sheets.
8. Remove to wire racks.
