Easy Biscuits

My dad always makes these on the weekends. They're so yummy and simple to make. I like to eat mine with honey, or lingonberry jam. Pretty much anything you want. Show more

  1. Preheat oven to 425.
  2. In large bowl, with fork, mix flour, baking powder and salt. With pastry blender or 2 knives used scissor fashion, cut in shortening until mix resembles coarse crumbs; add milk. With fork, quickly mix just until mixture forms soft dough that leaves the sides of the bowl.
  3. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface; knead 6 to 8 strokes to mix thouroughly.
  4. With floured rolling pin, lightly roll out dough, lifting rolling pin near edges to keep dough evenly thick. Roll dough ½ inch thick.
  5. Cut biscuits into 1 inch wide strips and into square (or rectangle, depending on how big you like them) biscuits. Place biscuits onto ungreased cookie sheet nearly touching. Bake for about 20 minutes or until golden.
