Easy Applesauce Cake

A simple and delicious version of my applesauce cake. Very easy to make.

• Yields: 1 cake

Ingredients

• 1⁄2 cup shortening
• 1 1⁄2 cups self-rising flour
• 1  cup granulated sugar
• 1  cup  thick applesauce
• 1  cup raisins
• 1⁄4 cup cocoa powder
• 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1  egg, lightly beaten
• 1  teaspoon cinnamon
• 1  cup  chopped  nuts (I use pecans)

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Grease and flour a 13x9x2-inch cake pan.
3. Combine all ingredients, adding the nuts last and stir until well blended.
4. Pour into prepared cake pan.
5. Bake 45-50 minutes.
