Double Corn Halloween Snack Mix

A friend gave me this recipe as a good "Halloween" snack for the kids. I have not tried it yet, but it sounds really good - and her kids love it. I'm putting it here for safe keeping until I get a chance to try it later. Show more

Serves: 12

Ingredients

  • 2 (3 1/3ounce) bags  microwave popcorn
  • 14 cup butter, melted
  • 2  tablespoons sugar
  • 14 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 14 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 30  drops  yellow food coloring
  • 4  drops  red food coloring
  • 2  cups  candy corn (or a combo of both) or 2  cups  M&M's plain chocolate candy (or a combo of both)

Directions

  1. Pop popcorn according to package directions.
  2. Mix melted butter, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and food coloring in a small bowl (or glass measuring cup to make it easier to pour).
  3. Place popcorn in a large bowl.
  4. Pour butter mixture over the popcorn.
  5. Toss to coat.
  6. Add candy corn and/or M&Ms.
  7. Toss to combine.
