Delicious Caramel Squares

Love this recipe. Melts in your mouth and very easy to make. Can not remember where I got the recipe, but this is a sure fire way to win over the sweet lovers in your family.

• Yields: 36 cookies

Ingredients

• 1⁄2 cup butter
• 1  cup brown sugar
• 1  egg
• 1  cup  sifted flour
• 1  teaspoon baking powder
• 1  teaspoon vanilla
• 1  pinch salt
• 1 1⁄3 cups  nuts

Directions

1. Set oven at 350 degrees.
2. Grease a 9 X 9 Pan.
3. Put butter and sugar in saucepan and stir over heat until very smooth.
4. Cool.
5. Add unbeaten egg.
6. Sift in flour, baking powder and salt.
7. Add vanilla.
8. Mix well until smooth.
9. Bake 30-40 minutes.
10. Cut into squares.
11. Makes about 36 small cookie squares.
