Deep-Dish Chicken Pot Pie

This is an all time favorite at our house. My children are always asking for it.

Serves: 6

Ingredients

  • 1 (10 ounce) package  frozen mixed peas carrots and potatoes
  • 1  small onion
  • 2  cups  chopped  cooked chicken
  • 1 (10 ounce) can  cream of potato soup
  • 13 cup milk
  • 12 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 14 cup chicken broth
  • 2  unbaked 9-inch deep dish pie pastry

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Combine thawed mixed vegetables and onion in a bowl; mix well.
  3. Add chicken, soup, milk and poultry seasoning to bowl; mix well.
  4. Add broth; mix well.
  5. Line a deep-dish pie pan with a pie shell.
  6. Spoon mixture into prepared pie shell.
  7. Place remaining pie shell over chicken mixture.
  8. Press to seal top and bottom shells together.
  9. Trim off any excess pastry.
  10. Crimp edge.
  11. Pierce top pastry several times to vent.
  12. Bake for 55 minutes or until golden brown.
