Decadent Chocolate Pecan Truffles

Ingredients

  • 1 (16 ounce) container  home-style  milk chocolate frosting
  • 2 12 cups powdered sugar
  • 1  cup pecan halves
  • 1  cup  semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3  tablespoons shortening

Directions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine frosting and powdered sugar.
  2. Stir with wooden spoon until well blended.
  3. Chop 1/3 cup pecan halves; set aside.
  4. Cover remaining pecan halves with 1 tablespoon frosting mixture each.
  5. In a 2-cup glass measuring cup, microwave chocolate chips and shortening at MEDIUM (50% power) for 2 minutes; stir.
  6. Microwave 1 minute at MEDIUM; stir until smooth.
  7. Dip one candy ball into chocolate mixture until completely covered.
  8. Remove with fork to cooling rack.
  9. Sprinkle top with chopped pecans.
  10. Repeat until all candy balls are covered.
  11. Allow to stand until chocolate mixture is set.
