Decadent Chocolate Cherry Bread

Ingredients
- 1 (16 5/8ounce) package date bread mix
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 1 (10 ounce) jar maraschino cherries, drained, cherries cut in half, reserving liquid
- 3⁄4 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
- 3⁄4 cup water
- 2 teaspoons almond extract, plus
- 1⁄4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 2 eggs
Directions
- In large bowl, combine all ingredients; stir 50-75 strokes with spoon until mix is moistened.
- Pour batter into greased and floured loaf pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Cool 15 minutes. Remove from pan. Cool 1 hour or until completely cooled.
- Wrap loaf tightly in foil. Refrigerate for 24 hours. Store in refrigerator.
