- 1⁄4 cup butter, at room temperature
- 2 tablespoons dark rum or 2 teaspoons rum flavoring
- 1 egg, at room temperature
- 2 teaspoons mccormick ground roasted ginger
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
Frosting
- 1 cup sugar
- 1⁄4 cup dark rum
- 2 egg whites
- 3 inches knob ginger, sliced
- 1 pinch salt
