Cupid's Best Brownies

This is just a basic brownie recipe dressed up for Valentine's Day - and so very tasty it is -

Yields: 24 hearts

Ingredients

  • 4  squares baker's  unsweetened chocolate
  • 34 cup butter
  • 2  cups sugar
  • 3  eggs
  • 1  teaspoon vanilla
  • 1  cup flour
  • 1  cup  coarsely chopped walnuts
  • 1  cup  vanilla frosting
  • 14 cup  multi-colored  candy sprinkles

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350°F Line a 13x9-inch pan with foil, with ends of foil extending over sides . Grease foil.
  2. Microwave chocolate and butter in large microwaveable bowl on high 2 minutes or until butter is melted. Stir until chocolate is completely melted.
  3. Add sugar; mix well. Blend in eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour and nuts until well blended; spread in prepared pan.
  4. Bake 30-35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out with fudgy crumbs (do not overbake). Cool in pan.
  5. Use foil handles ro remove from pan before cutting into heart shapes with 2-inch cookie cutter. Reserve scraps for snacking or another use. Decorate heart cutouts with frosting and sprinkles.
  6. HOW TO USE SCRAPS: Stir cubes of brownie scraps into : prepared chocolate or vanilla instant pudding; softened or vanilla or chocolate ice cream; or layer cubes of brownie scraps wih prepared Jell-o chocolate or vanilla instant pudding, thawed Cool Whip Topping and banana sliced for a show stopping trifle!
