Crunchy Dessert Topping

Ingredients
- 1⁄2 cup dark brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 1 1⁄2 cups toasted wheat germ
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1⁄4 cup chopped pecans
Directions
- In a large skillet, combine the brown sugar and lemon juice.
- Cook over low heat, stirring frequently, for 2 minutes or until the sugar has melted.
- Stir in the wheat germ and oil, and cook, stirring frequently for 9 minutes or until richly brown.
- Stir in the pecans and cook for 1 minute.
- Cool to room temperature, transfer to an airtight container, and store at room temperature for up to 3 days. Freeze for longer storage.
