Crock Pot Spaghetti Sauce

Serves: 6-8
Ingredients
- 1⁄4 cup olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 medium onion, diced very fine
- 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato puree
- 3 tablespoons dried parsley
- 3 tablespoons dried basil
- 4 tablespoons oregano
- 1⁄4 teaspoon thyme
- 2 bay leaves
- 1⁄2 cup red wine (or more)
- 16 ounces water
- 6 ounces sliced mushrooms, drained
- 4 ounces capers, drained
Directions
- In a pan over medium heat, saute the garlic and onion in olive oil.
- When onions are translucent, add tomato paste, mushrooms and capers and blend well.
- Transfer to crock pot and add tomato sauce, puree, water, wine and spices and mix.
- Cook on low for 6 hours.
