Crispy Onion Straws

Ingredients
- 1 large onion (white or sweet)
- 2 1⁄2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 2 teaspoons garlic salt
- 3 teaspoons cayenne
- 1⁄2 cup Anjou pear, ranch
Directions
- 1. Get a large onion, slice the onion into thin slices the best as you can.
- 2. Put the thin slice onions in a deep dish Get the ranch & milk to cover the sliced onions add garlic salt then combine them together.
- 3. Let them sit in fridge for an hour.
- 4. Now mix all the dry ingredients which is the flour, black pepper, cayenne, & salt on a tray.
- 5. After an hour take your onions & cover them in dry ingredients with flour & other dry ingredients. Add couple tbsp of flour if needed.
- 6. add few pieces of onions at a time in a deep fryer or frying pan with oil that's 375 degrees. Let them cook until it's golden brown. Do not let them crowd together or else they will stick together.
- 7. Once they are golden brown, place them on paper towel to let them dry so they won't get soggy & be sure to salt them right after they get pulled out of the hot oil.
